Thank You For The Sci-Fi
(to the tune of Thank You For The Music, by Abba)
I'm nothing special,
At least, not what you can see
If you're at a con,
There's probably hundreds like me
But I have a talent,
A terrible thing
They all run for cover
When I start to sing
I can scatter a crowd
Just by threatening to sing this out loud
But I sing:
Thank you for the sci-fi
The songs I'm filking
Thanks for all
The shows I'm milking
Who can live without it
I ask in all honesty
What would life be
Without a con or a zine what are we
So I sing thank you for the sci-fi
The shows on our tv
Mother says I loved the tv
Before I could talk
I hogged the remote
As soon as I learned how to walk
I watched the moon landing
Guess that was the start
And since that day nothing
Can capture my heart
Like a rocket ship can
And that's how I turned into a fan
So I sing:
Thank you for the sci-fi
The songs I'm filking
Thanks for all
The shows I'm milking
Who can live without it
I ask in all honesty
What would life be
Without a con or a zine what are we
So I sing thank you for the sci-fi
The shows on our tv
